Hi, My name is Sarah and I am a Graphic Designer from England. I currently serve with Youth With A Mission, Montana leading the Communications Department. My heart is to use my creative training and gifts to serve God by promoting and designing for YWAM and other minsitries. Find out more...
Dear Friends,
I write this to you over American thanksgiving and I have a lot to be thankful for in this season. Firstly I would like to thank all of you for praying for my visa process, last week I found out that it got APPROVED! I am so relieved and excited, 8 months is a long time to wait not knowing! So now I have a Religious workers visa for at least the next two years so I don't have to worry about that for a while.

NEW THINGS
Also I now have three more staff members for my department accepted on to YWAM staff! They will be coming in the next few months and they are a mix of web designers, graphics designers, photographers and film makers - basically everything I need! I am so excited to be able to expand the work that we are doing and to start serving outside of the Montana base to other bases and ministries that desperately need good visual communications. So that is definitely something to be thankful for.
Also I am continuing to serve in the creative team at my church and it has been so beneficial for me in learning how to run a creative studio (which I will be doing once my new staff come!), how to deal with clients and work in a team environment. I am also growing my skills in web design and design in general which is so awesome.

OUTREACH
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to Portland, Oregon with the Fall DTS school on their mini-outreach and help out with cooking for them but also do some ministry with them too. They are a school of around 55 so with staff there was over 80 of us - a lot of people to cook for! The ministry time with them was so refreshing and it felt so good to be "on the front line" of missions again! We did a lot of work with the homeless and street evangelism and we got to encourage a lot of people. On Halloween night we put on a show on the streets of Portland where one of the students dressed as a zombie and and got into a wooden coffin. Then we made a funeral procession with about 30 of us dressed in black with candles and followed the coffin around the streets and then ended in a big square. We then laid the coffin down and dispersed - and Daniel, the student, got out of the coffin and started preaching to the people on the streets all dressed up for Halloween parties. We then talked to the people that were around and shared the gospel with them, gave prophetic words and prayed for healing. In 3 three hours we saw 11 people get saved and 2 people healed, it was incredible. A night the the enemy had purposed for evil, God used for his glory and changed lives for good. I was part of bringing a homeless man to the lord, we talked with him for over an hour and an encouraged him and he accepted Jesus, it was so awesome!
This quarter I have been invloved a lot more with the DTS school and it has been so refreshing to be around students and to be able to sit in on some evening lectures and see what God is doing in such a unique group of young people so hungry for him and passionate for evangelism. They are about to embark on two month outreaches to Iceland, Philipines/Taiwan, South Africa, Thailand and Cambodia. Please pray for them, I believe God is going to do great things through them!
HOME
So I will be coming home to the UK for Christmas for around a month and I would love to meet with you and catch up! I will be in London for a few days catching up with friends and then back in Cornwall and Wales to see my family and friends there.
Prayer points:
- The transition with new staff will be smooth and that God will give me wisdom in how to lead well
- For the current DTS students and staff and their outreaches
- Safe travels back home and a good time reconnecting with friends and family
- Raising of financial support for the next year
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!
Love Sarah
